The Australian Federal Police alleges a percentage of the funds that should have been paid in tax\u00a0was skimmed by a syndicate and spent on lavish lifestyle expenses in a white collar fraud racket.<\/p>\n
Finance has also confirmed it engaged\u00a0seven contractors through external companies that had a relationship with\u00a0Plutus\u00a0Payroll.<\/p>\n
Following\u00a0a Senate estimates hearing in May, the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet\u00a0told senators it engaged 23 contractors\u00a0who used Plutus\u00a0Payroll for payment while doing government work.<\/p>\n
PM&C said\u00a0it engaged the contractors who used Plutus through five labour hire companies:\u00a0Programmed Professionals,\u00a0First People Recruitment Solutions, Dynamo IT, Hays Recruitment and\u00a0Clicks & Programmed.<\/p>\n
